Krabi Trips

Krabi is distinguished by its mountains, hills, and plains, and of course its beautiful coastline. More than 30 small islands dot the horizon right off the coast. The still pristine jungles include white mangrove and mangrove forests. The soil is mostly sandy clay and rich loam which is perfect for rubber, palm, cashew nuts, coffee, and coconut plantations. Within the Muang district flows the Krabi River, which enters the sea at Tambon Pak Nam. Other streams include: the Pakasai, the Big Krabi (Krabi Yai), and the Little Krabi (Krabi Noy), which have their sources in the Panom Benja mountains, Krabi 's largest range of mountains.

Krabi is a stunning province with a magnificent coastline to explore. Our office is situated on Ao Nang Beach. From here we run a number of different trips to suit all budgets.

- Ao Nang : 'Ao' means 'bay,' and on one side of the bay is a hill with a cave featuring stalactites and stalagmites. The bay itself has a group of 83 islands of various sizes and shapes, which the local people named after their shape or character. Most of them have names in the Yawi language, which is related to Malay. Koh Yawasa, Koh Moh, Koh Poda, Sriboya, Pra Nang beach, Pra Nang pond, and Rai Lay beach are places of interest. The famous beaches include East Rai Le, West Rai Le, and Tham Phra Nang, which stretch to the foot of a conspicuously prominent limestone range. Accommodations and other facilities like diving shops, boats for rent, and sightseeing by canoe are available. From Ao Nang tourists may hire boats to visit nearby islands of Poda, Thap, and Mo which have white sandy beaches, clear water, and colorful fish and coral.

Prehistoric drawings on the cave walls-Bor Thor is a small coastal village at the (Northern) top of Phang Nga Bay. It is a bit closer to Krabi than Phuket, and is accessible by road from both locations. A limestone karst sits close to the pier, right in the back of the mangroves. There is a good concentration of caves and "Hongs" that can be accessed by Sit-On-Tops, and the geology is amazing. There isn't as much wildlife as in Talin, but Bor Tor is rich in archaeology.

- Tahm Pee Hua Toe or Tahm Hua Galok is a large cave with many grottos. It is situated on a hill in the middle of the water surrounded by mangroves. A long time ago, a human skull that was larger than ordinary size was found in the cave. From then on , the cave became known as 'Pee Hua Toe', or 'Big-headed ghost'. In addition to this, there are prehistoric drawings on the cave walls with a large number of people, animals, and various organs. There are also vast numbers of shells in the sedimentary rock. To get there, we kayak from Bor Tor Pier, the same place from where you would leave to get to Tahm Lod Nua Tai. Prehistoric drawings on the cave walls in Pee Hua Toe Cave

- Tahm Lad Nua -Tai Cave is in the vicinity of the Ta Prang Canal, about 2 kms. from the District Headquarters down the Ao Luk- Laem Sak Rd. There are 2 caves:

- Tahm Lod Nua is a large grotto which is very winding but very beautiful.

- Tahm Lod Tai is a long tunnel beneath the mountain rock, narrower than the one in Phang-Nga. There are stalactites and stalagmites around the mouth of the cave that are very attractive. Also, there are curiously bent, quarter- moon shaped rocks and boulders strewn in rows. It is best to go by Kayak.
